Outside the Box
The
Make-at-home better 4 U – “Lunchable”

a.
Lunchmeat, cheese, crackers, dried fruit, one small sweet treat


b.
Peanut Butter scoop, pretzels or crackers, carrot sticks, and/or dried fruit

c.
Boiled egg (peeled), whole-wheat pancake, honey to dip, and fruit.

More
Ideas: cut up apples (sprinkle lemon juice to keep from browning), nuts,
home-made “treat” breads like banana bread, cherry tomatoes, grapes,
blueberries, etc.

Extras:
add a natural flavor packet for waters, fruit cups, all fruit leathers, yogurt to
the lunch box.

*Make several ahead of time, store in refrigerator, and send with an ice pack.

You
get to choose the quality of ingredients – and get a control on sodium,
artificial colors, and other additives!

Sandwiches/Wraps

Wrap
it up!
PB
& banana in a tortilla

Add
shredded carrots, lettuce, or other veggie to meat & cheese roll-ups


Bean
& Cheese Burrito, melted at home, kept cold in lunchbox


Whole
Grain Tortilla Chips, serve with Bean dip


Cold
Egg and Cheese on a Whole Wheat Bun or English muffin

Other
Ideas – use cream cheese, peanut butter (or other nut/seed butters), add fruit
or veggie where you can, choose whole wheat bread and all fruit spreads for
PB&J sandwiches.
