The Acai berry, a tiny super berry! Juices and purees from these super berries have come to the US market in recent years. Originating from Brazil, South America, and Peru, this berry resembles the blueberry. The antioxidants found in acai berries will give you super powers! I did use an acai berry fruit juice that was mixed with other fruit juices. (the actual amount of acai is undisclosed) Let’s not forget the blueberry, tea, grape juice, wine, pomegranate and cranberry juice which may contain the same or more of beneficial antioxidants.
2 cups ice
1 1/2 cups Acai berry juice
1 cup frozen or fresh blueberries
1 cup frozen or fresh strawberries, or other fruit.
Makes 4 small servings, or 3 bigger servings. Divide this blender full of its super powers into three and and you get 99 calories and 3 grams of fiber! It is a tasty treat, and a lower calorie version of a smoothie.
