A little late, but better than never.

These kids are so much fun having in ‘my’ kitchen – they really are all my little turkeys.
We made hand print turkeys.  Decorated our feathers/fingers with various dried foods, all different colors.  (Green peas, Black beans, Pinto beans, Navy beans, and Pasta.)

I posted a recipe for Pumpkin Waffles several weeks ago for Halloween.  Its’ a winner…so we used it today too.

Here’s the recipe again:

And, if you have time, make your waffle into a little turkey!  Do it!  Maybe Thanksgiving Day morning?

1/2 of the waffle
Pretzel stick legs
Red apple beak/Wobbler
Different colored apple slices for feathers
Round slice of Pear for the “body”
Cranberries or Raisins for the eyes.

Kids Kitchen Konnection:  Almost all of the kids liked dipping their waffle into the honey.  All but one child tried the waffle and liked it.  We called Pumpkin a Super Food.  And, because we all know that Superman has Super powers because he eats Super Foods……..it made us want to eat more Super Foods too!
