Pizza poppers are a favorite of both kids and adults alike at Kitchen House. They deliver the flavors of pizza in a portable and snackable size. They pack well in school lunches and are delicious dipped in a side of pizza sauce or ranch. You can do plain cheese or add some pepperoni to fit individual tastes.

Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp oregano
  • ¼ tsp basil
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ¼ cup parmesan
  • ½ cup pepperoni, diced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Use non-stick spray on mini muffin tin.
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, garlic powder, oregano, basil, and salt together, then stir in milk and egg.
  3. Fold in cheese and pepperoni.
  4. Pour or scoop about a tablespoon of batter into each muffin well. Top with more cheese.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Serve with warmed pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

To reheat pizza poppers, microwave for 10 seconds. Add an additional 5 seconds at a time until they reach your desired temperature, or you can place them on a baking sheet and put them in the oven at 350 degrees for 3-5 minutes.
