Pizza poppers are a favorite of both kids and adults alike at Kitchen House. They deliver the flavors of pizza in a portable and snackable size. They pack well in school lunches and are delicious dipped in a side of pizza sauce or ranch. You can do plain cheese or add some pepperoni to fit individual tastes.
Yields 24 poppers
Ingredients
- 1 ¼ cup flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp oregano
- ¼ tsp basil
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- ¼ cup parmesan
- ½ cup pepperoni, diced (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Use non-stick spray on mini muffin tin.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, garlic powder, oregano, basil, and salt together, then stir in milk and egg.
- Fold in cheese and pepperoni.
- Pour or scoop about a tablespoon of batter into each muffin well. Top with more cheese.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes. Serve with warmed pizza sauce for dipping.
Notes
To reheat pizza poppers, microwave for 10 seconds. Add an additional 5 seconds at a time until they reach your desired temperature, or you can place them on a baking sheet and put them in the oven at 350 degrees for 3-5 minutes.
