We started our summer off right by making our favorite superhero with yummy veggies at summer camp. We got to play with our food and then eat it too!

First we learned that spinach is a power food because it is loaded with nutrients that help our body grow strong. We also talked about green beans, cucumbers and carrots and how plants grow and produce vegetables. Each different color veggie provides different nutrients that your body can breakdown to use or store for later.

We used bell peppers, cucumbers, green beans, carrots, spinach and purple cabbage. We sliced and diced them up into many shapes and used our imagination to form our favorite superpower hero. We had WonderWoman, SpiderMan and even a monkey (not a super hero, but still fun!).

Then we made a delicious dip to dip our vegetables in and enjoy our snack.

Making a fun shape or face is a great way to get kids to try new foods because they are allowed to create something interesting to them!
