Twelve Days of Christmas – Day #9
You asked for Food Gifts for family, friends, neighbors, and teachers. Here is the first one.
This one is the easiest ever. It’s colorful, nutritious, simple, and provides a great snack for these busy days ahead of us! Who needs all the sweets that are usually given out in abundance during this time of year?
Sweet and Nutty Mix
Mix together:
Dried cranberries or cherries (because they are red)
Pepitas (pumpkin seeds -because they are green)
Dry roasted almonds (because they are good)
Place in a clear food bag and tie with a decorative ribbon. Add a small decorative spoon if you want to give more.
NOTE: You can find pepitas sometimes in the produce section near the other nuts. I bought these at Sprouts in the bulk bins. But, look for them at any grocery store in the bulk bins. These are unsalted, but there is that option.
Stay tuned for the week ahead: Gingerbread, Lentil Soup, Gingerbread Pancakes, and more food gifts!
