Summer is heating up, so it’s the perfect time to enjoy an ice, cold glass of lemonade. Our recipe uses freshly squeezed lemon juice and a lemon infused simple syrup to create a tart, yet balanced, treat. Add frozen fruit and the lemonade to a blender to make a refreshing frozen delight!
Yields 5-6 glasses
Perfect Lemonade

Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice (8-9 lemons)
- Zest of one lemon
- 2-3 cups water
- 1 cup ice
Instructions
- Combine sugar, zest of one lemon, and one cup of water in a small pan to make a simple syrup. Simmer until sugar dissolves completely and mixture has thickened slightly. Remove from heat and cool.
- Juice lemons making sure to keep seeds and as much pulp out as possible. Strain if necessary after juicing.
- Combine one cup of juice and one cup of simple syrup in a serving pitcher.
- Add ice and stir until dissolved.
- Add 2 cups of cold water and taste. If too tart add additional syrup or water, remember lemonade will dilute further when served over ice. Too sweet add more lemon juice.
- Once the sweet and tart balance is met, serve chilled over ice.
