Yields 12 cookies
Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 ½ cups flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- 1/8 tsp cinnamon (optional)
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¾ cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- Using a stand or hand mixer, beat the butter with both sugars until creamy. Add the vanilla and egg. Beat on low speed until just incorporated.
- Add the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Mix to combine.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Roll into 12 dough balls. Bake 9-11 minutes until cookies look puffy and dry and just barely golden. Do not overbake! Because these cookies are soft baked, they make look underdone however a toothpick inserted will come out clean.
- Cookies are very soft, so let them cool about 10 minutes before eating.
